Recent Events
The NLA has been pretty busy so far this quarter, and we’re not even through!
On April 16th, we worked at the Celebrating Life and Health Fair taking surveys of those who attended. The Celebrating Life and Health Fair is a fair to promote testing for health issues and healthy living. It is put on by the Levin Family Foundation. The survey we did was to find out what kind of people were attending the fair and whether they felt it was worth their time to come or not. It also gave attendees a chance to let us know what needs to change about the event and any opinions they wanted to express about the fair. You can find out more information about the health fair by going to: http://www.levinfamilyfoundation.org/celebrating-life-and-health-fair.htm
Our community service this quarter was Project Linus. Project Linus is an organization that makes flannel blankets for local children. Project Linus takes the blankets to hospitals, shelters, and anywhere there may be a child in need. We spent the day cutting and tying blankets. By the end, our group was able to make the most blankets. For this we received a pizza party! It was a great day, hanging out with each other and working to help children in need. To find out more information on Project Linus, you can go to: http://www.projectlinus.org/
